I'm a wedding and event photographer based in Portland, Oregon, working throughout the Pacific Northwest. I came to photography almost by accident — I'd set out to make films, but life didn't leave room for it, so when I picked up a Fujifilm X-T1 I started shooting stills just to learn it. What hooked me wasn't the camera. It was the freedom: no script, no schedule, no perfect light required. I could walk out the door on an ordinary day and come back with something worth keeping.

For a long time I wanted to do more with it than post the occasional photo online, but I didn't quite believe I could. Then, in August 2022, I had a bad panic attack. My instinct that day was to do something — fix something — so I grabbed the camera, got in the car, and drove until I stopped an hour from home, at a river and an old bridge. I shot until I felt like myself again. The next morning I got up and did it again. I haven't really stopped since.

Somewhere in all that shooting I found my way to weddings — and what I didn't expect was how much I'd love them. Other people's joy, it turns out, is contagious. I've been catching it ever since.

What I love most is the in-between: the quiet look between vows, the laugh that catches everyone off guard, the last light falling through the firs. My goal is never to interrupt your day, but to move through it quietly and hand it back to you exactly as it felt.

I was born and raised here in Portland, and though I've traveled plenty, I can't picture anywhere else being home. When I'm not behind the camera, you'll usually find me with my big family, with friends I've known for going on two decades, rolling dice with my D&D group, or off exploring somewhere I've never been — travel is where I find most of my inspiration. Life moves fast; all I really want is to appreciate the moment I'm in, and hand you an image that lets you appreciate it all over again.
